Enrique Lafourcade’s “La fiesta del Rey Acab” Published by FUNGLODE is Launched

Thursday March 21 is the launch date for Chilean writer Enrique Lafourcade’s novel, “La fiesta del Rey Acab”  (King Ahab’s Feast), published by FUNGLODE.

Mr. Lafourcade met Jesús de Galíndezand was motivated to write the novel, satirizing of Trujillo and the speech he planned to give at the chancellors meeting of the Organization of American States in 1959 in Santiago, Chile. The satirized speech was secretly distributed to everyone in attendance at the meeting.

The novel has been out of print since 1985 until recently when Dominican Ambassador to Chile, Pablo Maríñez, got the publishing rights and wrote an extraordinary prologue to the newly FUNGLODE published edition.
