AAVA Dominicana’s Official Closure of the First Summer Camp for Students from San José de Los Mogotes Public School AAVA Dominicana celebrated the completion of the First Summer Camp for Students from the San José de Los Mogotes Public School with a formal closing ceremony on July 13 that was attended by 198 students, friends and people connected to the Foundation. The event was held at the public hall of Los Mogotes in Villa Altagracia, the same place where collaborators and students carried out this beautiful community work. The camp, held during the first two weeks of June for 198 school children, used fun and games as a way of stimulating values such as trust, communication, cooperation and conflict resolution. Celeste Seligmann, president and founder of AAVA Dominicana, overjoyed by the end of a successful camp experience, told her guests, “I fell in love with this place the first time I visited. I got into it immediately, first with my art workshop and today with my house, the AAVA Maison. “It was here that much of my artwork, shown in Europe and Santo Domingo, was created and where the spark of inspiration for the Foundation occurred.” AAVA Dominicana, based in Los Mogotes, aims to: stimulate, help and sustain exchange, artistic research and culture throughout the Dominican Republic and various countries around the Dominican Republic and several European Community countries: France, Spain, Italy, England, Germany and Switzerland. In addition to promoting and organizing conferences, seminars, forums, roundtables, exhibitions as well as artistic, training and cultural events that correspond to the philosophy of the Foundation. |
