Culture will present the Annual Literature Awards 2012 The Ministry of Culture, through its Literary Management Division, will hold a ceremony to preent the “Annual Literature Awards 2012,” which will take place on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m., in the Aída Bonnelly de Diaz hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theatre. The ceremony will be presided over by Minister José Antonio Rodríguez; he will be accompanied by the Director of the Book Fair, Valentín Amaro; Basilio Belliard, Director of Literary Management; Luis O. Brea Franco, Advisor to the Ministry of Culture; Nerva Fondeur, Coordinator of the Vice Ministry of Cultural Heritage; Carlos Salcedo, Director of the Ministerial Cabinet, among other officials of the institution. Julio Adames will be recognized with the “Salomé Ureña de Henríquez National Poetry Award” for his work “Tempo alcohólico”; Bernardo Vega will be presented the “José Gabriel García National History Award,” under the modality Compilation of historical documents, for his work “Negociaciones políticas durante la intervención militar de 1965 (Political negotiations during the 1965 military intervention).” The “Pedro Henríquez Ureña National Essay Award” in the modality of socio-political essay, will be presented to Neici Zeller, for the work “Discursos y espacios femeninos en la RD 1880-1861 (Female speeches and spaces in the DR 1880-1861).” In the literary essay modality, Juan Carlos Mieses will be recognized for his work “Apología de las palabras (Apology of the words).” In the free essay modality, the award will be presented to Manuel Matos Moquete for his work “Cien años de enseñanza del español en la RD (One hundred years of teaching Spanish in the DR).” |
