The San Ramón Art Gallery presented Rafael Rodríguez’s exhibit “Ritmos y Espacios” The San Ramon Art Gallery presented the most recent works by Dominican artist, Rafael Rodríguez, gathered under the exhibit “RHYTHMS AND SPACES.” The opening reception was held in its facilities, which are located on Ave Abraham Lincoln No. 904 del ensanche Piantini, and where artists, decorators, architects, clients and associates of the prestigious framing company met and enjoyed a night full of art in a friendly atmosphere of camaraderie. … we are witnessing an interaction between line and angle, closed shape and surrounding surface, which the sumptuousness of the color, that is never systematic, elevates, whether they are primary colors – red, yellow, blue, or “non-colors” – white, gray, black. Rafael Rodríguez, who is considered one of the most representative artists of Dominican abstract art, has a three decades long professional career, with countless presentations and exhibitions of his collections at the international and private levels, as well as at major museums. In this large exhibition, presented by the San Ramón Art Gallery, we are witnessing an interaction between line and angle, closed shape and surrounding surface, which the sumptuousness of the color, that is never systematic, elevates, whether they are primary colors – red, yellow, blue, or “non-colors” – white, gray, black. The rhythms of the strokes, from slow to fast, from pointillist to sharp, fit into this moving visual vocabulary, not without grandeur, and generate optical effects that spontaneously lead to contemplation.. It was the studies, reflections, reconsiderations even, that led the artist to the culmination of a series of mature works, channeling vital energies and “galaxies” in effervescence. Rafael Rodríguez lets his eyes wonder from dizzying perspectives and panoramic areas that have recovered a fragile stillness, as these juxtaposed worlds could abandon their balance in the universe and return to the metamorphosis or chaos. A painting, simultaneously geometric and expressionist, lyrical and gestural, that belongs to the temperament of our artist. The San Ramón Art Gallery, with a history of over 50 years in the development of the artistic culture in the Dominican Republic, invites you to enjoy this spectacular exhibition, which will be open to the public from October 31 to November 15 in its premises.
