Dominican Association of the Order of Malta Begins Work in Haina Center The Dominican Association of the Order of Malta (ADOM in Spanish) inaugurated the construction work recently to get underway in its third “Infant, Maternal and Family Community Center” located in Haina, San Cristobal. This new center will have two levels and an area for consults, a lab on the first and second floor, administrative offices and parking areas – all distributed over an area of 2,670 square meters … In an inaugural ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction of the Community Center, ADOM president Marino Ginebra broke ground along with Dr. John Howe, Executive President of Project HOPE and Marino Antonio Lora of the Haina syndicate. This new center will have two levels and an area for consults, a lab on the first and second floor, administrative offices and parking areas – all distributed over an area of 2,670 square meters. This center will provide services to families and all inhabitants of this municipal area in a safe and comfortable setting. Architects José Luis Rodríguez Bonetti and José Ramón Rodríguez Valera of Designs, Projects and Construction Company (DIPROCA) designed the project and their company is in charge of the construction. Others present at the groundbreaking included members of the Order of Malta José Luis Rodríguez Bonetti, first vice president; José Miguel Bonetti, treasurer; Ambassador José Vitienes Colubi, consultant; César Iván Feris, knight of Malta Magisterial Grace as well as Dr. Virgilio Cedano, Deputy Minister of Planning and Development at the Ministry of Public Health. Board members from Project HOPE is one of the main partners of the Order of Malta in the medicine donation programs underway in the Dominican Republic. There were also numerous representatives from Haina’s industries at the event. More about ADOM The Dominican Association of the Order of Malta is dedicated to the distribution of free medicines and medical supplies to more than 600 health-oriented institutions that serve the poor throughout the country. ADOM is also involved in the operation of two Primary Care and Infant and Maternal Clinics in Buenos Aires de Herrera, Santo Domingo and in Monte Plata. This construction in Haina marks their third such project. In addition, the Dominican Association restored the Regina Angelorum Church in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo and has assumed responsibility of taking care of and preserving this magnificent church that was built in 1564.
