The Ambassador of Canada Will Attend the Provincial Festival of Puerto Plata

The Ambassador of Canada, Georges Boissé, announced his intention to attend the opening of the II Provincial Festival of Puerto Plata, which is scheduled to take place November 15 to November 17. Ambassador Boissé will spend the weekend in Puerto Plata mingling with the Canadian community and with officials and leaders of the various sectors of the region.

Since the 1980s, Canada has been the most generous source of visitors for the Puerto Plata tourism sector. This activity has resulted in the growth of an important Canadian community that includes businessmen and retirees who have invested and established family roots in the province.

The senior Canadian officer underscored his interest of attending the Puerto Plata Provincial Festival by emphasizing that the festival, which is being organized by Turisopp and members of the provincial municipalities, demonstrates / confirms the important and positive progress that the Puerto Plata community has recently achieved in terms of uniting and organizing around a coherent proposal for development, not only in the areas of sunshine and beaches, but across the province.
