Events Program Closes as 27th Biennial Continues The Ministry of Culture, Museum of Modern Art and the Organizing Committee of the Biennial officially closed the recreational and theoretical events section while the Visual Arts Biennial remains open until November 17. … the play “Cibercity 3001,” by Luis Arias, winner of the “People’s Award” was performed. “Domingo Liz Intimo” was the topic of conversation at the closing event of the theoretical part of the 27th Biennial under the guidance of artists Fernando Varela, Iris Pérez and son of the late Pablo Liz. The event was held in the auditorium of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM). Closure of the recreational part of the program was held in the Museum’s front esplanade, with music by the “Noche de Ritmos Tropicales,” under the direction of the Urbanova group comprised of Cristian Alexis, Aníbal Coronado, César Recio, León Guzmán, Carlos Lora and Juan Carlos Santana. The public enjoyed such songs as: “Donde guardo mi calor”, “Dame”, “Quisiera”, “Reciclando Palabras”, “Son tus Ojos”, “Hoy eres mía”, “Cuando te mire” and “Presumes,” among other hits. Later, the play “Cibercity 3001,” by Luis Arias, winner of the “People’s Award” was performed. The 27th National Visual Arts Biennial will remain open to the public everyday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm until November 17th at the Museum of Modern Art of the Dominican Republic, located on Pedro Henríquez Ureña Ave, Juan Pablo Duarte Culture Plaza.
