The accreditation process entails a rigorous evaluation in which the Florida Board of Education must examine and verify the standards required to qualify for the license. The license, which is issued by the Florida Board of Medicine, recognizes the UNIBE’s School of Medicine as having the level and standards sufficient enough for its medical students to continue their medical rotation and training at accredited health centers in the State of Florida. The accreditation process entails a rigorous evaluation in which the Florida Board of Education must examine and verify the standards required to qualify for the license. Julio Amado Castaños Guzmán, rector of UNIBE, expressed how this ratification is the product of the academic excellence and high standards of education of UNIBE’s Medical School, as well as the role his students and graduates play in the hospitals of Florida. He expressed how the Florida License is a great opportunity for students at UNIBE, because it allows them to complete clinical shifts at certain hospitals, which would not be possible without the endorsement and certification of quality from the Florida Board of Education. UNIBE is the only university in the Dominican Republic with this license, which shows its commitment to excellence and to maintaining standards of the highest quality internationally.
