The Ministry of Culture Announces the “Long Night of the Museums at Christmas” and a Display of “Cultural Projects” for this weekend

The Ministry of Culture will present on Saturday, December 7th, the traditional activity “The Long Night of the Museums at Christmas,” celebrating on this occasion the “winter version.” The inaugural event will take place at 6:30 pm at the Museum of Modern Art.

Various artistic and cultural activities have been organized for the enjoyment of the entire family, which will be able to visit the museums of the Colonial City and other places in the country free, of charge. In Santiago, the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration will be open to the public; in Puerto Plata, the San Felipe Colonial Fortress, the Camilo Carrau Art Gallery and the Gregorio Luperón Museum. In turn, Higüey will showcase the Altagracia Museum.

Music, theater, exhibitions, workshops, character recreations, craft sales, tastings, and artistic performances are part of the attractions of the Long Night of the Museums. The activities will begin at 9:00 am and will end at 12:00 midnight.

The grand finale of this cultural event, which has been organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Directorate General of the Museums, will feature Jhonny Ventura, also known as “El Caballo Mayor” with his concert “La Gallera” from 9:00 to 10:00 pm. Other artistic attractions of the event are Maridalia Hernández and folk musician Rafaelito Román. The ringing of the bells will be from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.
