Toque Profundo will perform at the Cultural Center of Spain The Cultural Center of Spain brings its 2013 musical program to a close with a concert by the renowned Dominican rock band Toque Profundo, which will present its latest single, Dance MF. On this occasion, the members of the Dominican Republic’s most legendary rock band, Tony Almont, the group’s lead singer, Tomás Álvarez, Joel Lazala, and Clemente Portillo, promise a musical event that will include anecdotes about their nearly 25 years musical career. The Cultural Center of Spain invites lovers of this genre of music, to bid farewell to the year 2013 to the rhythm of music, on Friday, December 13, at 9:00 pm, in the courtyard of the Cultural Center of Spain. About Dance MF Based on fairly complex lyrics with a strong social content, it reflects the reality that Dominicans live today, in a playful and fun way. We might even say that Toque Profundo calls for a change through dance. The fact that Toque Profundo has turned to other musical genres outside of rock to include them in Dance MF is nothing new within its musical trajectory. This is what sets the group apart from all the other local projects, the ease of composing any type of songs during the course of its career without ever losing its seal. Such is the case of “Dando Aco” (a bachata), “Mandela,” “Tabaco y Ron,” “XXX,” and “Monte Plata Beach Resort,” in which the band triumphantly played with other rhythms.
