Show “Somos Dominicana” at the Alcázar de Colón Museum The Ministry of Culture and the Alcázar de Colón Museum present, this Wednesday, February 26th, the show “Somos Dominicana” (We are the Dominican Republic) by the National Dominican Folkloric Ballet. Admission is free of charge and the show will take place at the esplanade of the Alcázar at 7:00 pm. Director Raysa Astacio explains that the objective of this presentation is to mark the month of the sovereignty of the Dominican homeland. The public will have the opportunity to enjoy a completely modernized ballet, where “our heritage, songs, rhythms and dances full of history and identity” are highlighted. Thanks to the policy of the Ministry of Culture to highlight what is Dominican, the National Dominican Folkloric Ballet will present this show at major international festivals to which it has been invited, on a tour that will start in July and will end in September. “The re-launching of this dance troupe represents a great success for our Ministry of Culture, and so we wanted to give all people the opportunity to enjoy a world-class spectacle, worthy of being presented all over the world for the enjoyment of the family,” Astacio said. Through its program of activities the Alcázar de Colón Museum showcases the culture and history of our people through various genres of artistic performances, such as singing, dancing, acting and declamation, among others, thereby becoming a big stage for the people.
