“Jurassic Forest 2” Launched at the National Botanic Garden The most comprehensive exhibition of animatronic dinosaurs is back in our country in “Jurassic Forest 2”, which opens on April 25th, at the National Botanic Garden. During a press conference held at the Botanical Garden, the representatives of Xone Entertainment explained that the Ocean Dom Group production will bring Dominicans “a renewed Jurassic experience in this new exhibition, where visitors can learn and investigate more about these extraordinary creatures, which remain a scientific passion after millions of years”. Sandra Familia, César Polanco, Alfredo Tavárez, and Juan Naranjo, recalled that in 2012 the Dominican Republic had the privilege of enjoying these replicas in the first version of Jurassic Forest. “This time the public will have the opportunity to see about 34 different species, and 5 fossils on a tour of an hour and fifteen minutes that begins with a detailed scientific explanation of fossils, their discovery, and the scientists involved”. Then, the public will enter the majestic world of animatronic replicas of herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. Jurassic Forest 2 is a detailed tour of “the Mesozoic Era where you can learn about the three periods in which dinosaurs ruled the planet: Triassic, Cretaceous, and Jurassic”. The organizers said that this year the exhibition will have a close connection with the protection of the environment, the importance of biodiversity, and climate change. “We seek to increase awareness in the viewer about when and how these species lived and their subsequent disappearance, how scientists -from fossils discovered- have been able to rebuild and determine with much precision how they were, what they ate, what their habits were, and finally, enjoy with all their senses the experience of being with these animatronic replicas with such vivid features and realistic movements”. It is an exhibition that will remain open for two months and, besides providing a place for outdoor recreation for families, it will be very important for the education of the students. It will complement their academic programs with extracurricular activities, as an alternative pedagogical system that not only will educate, but will simultaneously entertain. Jurassic Forest 2 remains an example of the “Alternative Pedagogy” phenomenon that is becoming the trend being adopted by academic institutions throughout the world, and it is becoming stronger. Two specialized programs will be developed this year: “Tú también puedes” (You, too, can), with a social profile, intended for low income students, in which private companies sponsor attendance to the exhibition. There will also be a program for people with disabilities who will be able to enjoy their visit thanks to the adaptation and integration of the path that has been installed by the Dominican Consortium for Touristic Competiveness (CDTC), represented by Karen Pannocchia, with the support of CONADIS. Additionally, the public will be able to enjoy a space designed for healthy family entertainment with moon bouncers, three-line zip lines, bungee jumping, water slides, paint ball, pizza, ice cream, among other entertainment designed for the enjoyment of the whole family. Jurassic Forest 2 will also provide an opportunity to celebrate birthdays, themed parties, and summer day camps for companies. Another new feature is the Dino Club, in which the public will be able to register and participate in the activities and get VIP tickets for the season. DETAILS
