The Ministry of Tourism announces the “Megamerengue World Tour” of Johnny Ventura and Wilfrido Vargas

The Ministry of Tourism announced the start of the Megamerenguetour with two icons of the country brand: Johnny Ventura and Wilfrido Vargas. The two highly prestigious and world famous Dominican stars will perform this summer in 15 concerts and 15 hotels inthe various tourist destinations.

Johnny’s and Wilfrido’s orchestras will offer these sensational concerts for tourists staying at one of the hotels in the afore mentioned areas from August 9th until October 15th.

The information was provided by the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García. In his announcement, Javier Garcíaexpressed his joy at the continued support he is receiving from President Danilo Medina and the entire tourism sector in order to reachthe goal of 10 million tourists in 10 years.

“We are doing very well and we are encouraging the local and international tourism.Merengue is fantastic as a country brand. And Wilfrido Vargas and Johnny Ventura are two of the most important stars and legends of this gender that most identifies the Dominican musical culture.They represent us with much popularity and prestige throughout the world. They are joy, and national identity and pride”said Minister García.

They will performat the following tourist destinations only for those staying at the local hotels: Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Terrenas, Portillo, Samana, Santiago, Jarabacoa, Constanza, Boca Chica, Juan Dolio, La Romana, Bavaro, and Santo Domingo.

Johnny’s and Wilfrido’s orchestras will offer these sensational concerts for tourists staying at one of the hotels in the afore mentioned areas from August 9th until October 15th.

A great atmosphere of enthusiasm and expectation can be felt at all tourism agencies and tour operators because of these concerts.

The Ministry of Tourism is interested in Merengue and Bachata becoming two important pillars to help promote the Dominican tourist attractions throughout the world.
