The Book “El Esplendor del Mural” is Released

The book “El Esplendor del Mural”, written by Efraim Castillo, was released during a ceremony that was held in the framework of the exhibition of the Mario Martínez collection “Ramón Oviedo, El Triunfo del Espíritu”, on the first floor of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM).

The book “El Esplendor del Mural” was written by Efraim Castillo, and Miguel Ángel Muñoz contributed the critical text “Ramón Oviedo: Maestro de la Pintura”. Víctor Gómez corrected the style.

In “El Esplendor del Mural,” the author analyses 23 murals by Ramón Oviedo that are on display at international organizations and local institutions. The book presents the convergence of a Master in plastic arts and his natural talent.

This work is an executive production of Mario Martínez Fernández, collector; María del Carmen Ossaye was in charge of the editing, alongside César Miguel, who was the coordinator; Artist Ángel Ricardo Rivera was responsible for the design, lay out, and artistic direction; and, Mariano Hernández contributed the photos.

The Ministry of Culture and Mario Martínez Fernández, in coordination with the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), opened the exhibition “Ramón Oviedo, El Triunfo del Espíritu” as an institutional initiative focusing on the importance of the study of the existence and the contributions of cultural patronage in the Dominican Republic.
