The Tourism Cluster of the Puerto Plata Destination Invites to the First Victorian Evening of the Year Puerto Plata, January 23, 2015
January 30 is the date that has been chosen by the Tourism Cluster of the Puerto Plata Destination to hold the first Victorian Evening of this year.
Once again, the event will take place at Plaza Independencia from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. There will be a series of activities and attractions for the entire family, including art exhibits, live music and guided tours, among other activities and attractions that are scheduled to take place during this evening devoted to paying tribute to Puerto Plata’s period of greatest glory.
Among other attractions that will be offered during the Victorian Evening is a crafts fair that will showcase art products by local artisans. There, a group of characters dressed in period costumes will transport all those who gather at the Central Park to Victorian times, thereby complementing the atmosphere of this quaint and charming point of reference of this province.
The Victorian Evening is an initiative that seeks to highlight the historical and cultural attractions of the province’s metropolitan area. It is part of the POP Victorian product, as identified by the recently completed MIF-IDB project “Tourism Management Based on Cultural Resources”. The monitoring of this complementary proposal is being carried out with support from the project “Strengthening of Tourism Competitiveness Tools”, of the National Competitiveness Council, which is currently being implemented by the Cluster.
The Cluster has issued an invitation for the entire community to support this initiative by gathering at the park and in the commercial establishments located in the Historic Center, and which are part of the project. They have also invited to dress in period costumes.
