Film, Video and Television Festival Underway in Moca

A Film, Video and Televisión Festival is currently underway in the city of Moca and will run until this Sunday December 16.  The festival, now in its third year, is going on in the María Contín Technology and Cultural Center.

hroughout these days, Dominican critics and producers have been giving seminars and workshops at the festival.  Amid forums being offered, Dominican, Latin American, African and Asian films are being shown then followed by speeches given by local film critics.

The festival opened with the projection of the documentary “A Reel in the Sand: Vision and Illusion of Dominican Film” presented by its director Félix Manuel Lora.

Starting on Thursday, documentary and short films began at 4:00 in the afternoon. Together with the films, film theory and practical workshops are being offered. The forum “Film, Video and Television We Want to See,” features a two-day discussion among visual artists, film critics, academics and TV producers who debate the topic.
