@zonacolonialrd & @dominicanaonline Launch “Discover your Colonial Zone” The GFDD website, Dominicanaonline, and the @zonacolonialrd Instagram account are launching “Discover your Colonial Zone” photo competition. The contest welcomes professional as well as amateur photographers to submit their best pictures of Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone starting on June 9th until June 25th, 2015. In addition to fabulous prizes, the ten winners will be invited to participate in a photo exhibition in Santo Domingo and will have their pictures published in Dominicanaonline. Winners will be announced on July 3rd. Here is how to participate…it’s easy! The only thing photographers need to do is the following: Photos can be taken of the more than 90 sites of interest in the Colonial Zone, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and First in America; Church of the Convent of Santa Clara; the Ruins of the Church and Monastery of San Francisco; Church of Our Lady of Altagracia; Ruins of the Church and Hospital of San Nicolás of Bari; Pantheon of the Fatherland (Old Jesuit Church) and the San Gil Fort. But, you’re not limited to these sites. Photos can be taken of new places “discovered” by the photographer’s keen eye.
