Culture Ministry to Launch Third National Call for Cultural Projects The Ministry of Culture (MINC in Spanish) announced that this coming Tuesday July 14th will be the launch of the Third National Call for Cultural Projects, 2015. The ceremony for the opening of the Third National Call for Cultural Projects (CNPC in Spanish) will be presided over by Culture Minister, José Antonio Rodríguez, and be held at 9:00 a.m. in the Professor Juan Bosch Auditorium of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National Library. Deputy Ministers, Directors General, special guests and cultural events organizers from all Dominican provinces around the country will be present. For Minister Rodríguez “the National Call for Cultural Projects seeks to achieve changes in cultural development and generate a process of regional participation and integration in the Dominican Republic.” “This proposal represents for the Dominican State the best historical initiative of decentralization, inclusion and social cohesion from cultural action through the generation of jobs, development of cultural industries and markets,” said Minister Rodríguez. The Minister noted that in the two previous versions of the CNPC, 1,091 projects were received and 562 were approved with a state investment of $200 million Dominican pesos, which impacted the lives of Dominicans, including those in the Dominican community in the United States. The call will begin July 15th at 8:00 am and will end on September 15th at 3:00 pm, of this year, 2015. The launch of the First National Call for Cultural Projects, held in 2013, was led by President Danilo Medina in the Las Cariátides Hall of the National Palace, which began the implementation of 190 cultural projects nationwide.
