WAs part of the activities of the Year of the Theatre, the Ministry of Culture and the General Directorate of Fine Arts will stage an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic, “Hamlet,” directed by renowned Bolivian all-around theater person Diego Aramburo.

The play, to be staged at the Máximo Avilés Blonda Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts, from August 27 to 30, is a mise-en-scene “with some Latin American flavor,” stated Aramburo, “and staged with art, generosity, talent and the strength of artists from the Dominican Republic.”

For the Bolivian theater director, “Hamlet is the initiation journey during which a man loses his flesh and his medieval innocence/ignorance to become the current enlightened thinker, and, in that blink of an eye (to be or not to be) splits to place himself in a disjointed time.”

Karina Noble and Henssy Pichardo are responsible for the production of the play, which features performances by renowned Dominican actors Vladimir Acevedo, Cindy Galán, Clara Morel, Pascal Mecariello, Judith Rodríguez, Panchy Méndez and Henssy Pichardo.

The shows, which will have a nominal cost of 100 pesos per person, will begin at 8:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 6:30 pm on Sunday.
