Visual artist Norkelly Acosta opened “Norkelly’s murals route,” a different type of exhibition within her visual artwork, which combines her art with a variety of topics, such as social issues, leaving a design that turns an ordinary wall into a visual canvas and legacy, and even a historical legacy for the city.

Norkelly Acosta said that these murals represent a cultural attraction like no other in each area where they are located.

The route starts in the Colonial Zone and El Conde street. Opposite the Catedral Primada de América there is a light pole that has been lit with an artwork called “Luz a Luz,” with Ana Sánchez being part of the event, the artist explained.

The walls of the Emma Balaguer School in Sabana Perdida, also are part of this route, together with World Vision with the project “Transitando,” and “All About,” by Anita Sánchez, who has a unique style with a self-confident dreamlike iconography and her very own color palette. The Luz event in Sabana has carried out with the intention of supporting the subject of non-violence against children.

Another mural with contemporary art style is the one located in the Once30 RD Restaurant, which tell about the magical story that surrounds this place. “La puerta Roja at once30,” alongside Marova Olivas who produced the lettering.

“Familia Unida” was created in the context of the Marginal Biennale of Km 7 in honor of Silvano Lora. And finally, “Yo cuido mi entorno,” in which an innocent and magical lion cub keeps watch over his garden full of magic.

Norkelly Acosta said that when she paints or creates any type of artwork, she has fun. Her works convey a discourse of joy, they are filled with her own symbolism, where the organization, the points of interest, the depths, and the light lose interest and are replaced by original icons.

“My paintings have a content of dreamlike symbolism, playful dreams, which easily attract the viewer’s attention, sometimes overstating the meaning without capturing forces, contrasts and light, with a very personal and unique aesthetic nature,” the artist said.
