Puerto Plata Had an Outstanding Participation in the 2015 SITV Montreal

The Puerto Plata tourist destination had an outstanding participation in the recently concluded Salon International Tourisme Voyages (SITV), which took place from October 23 to October25 in the city of Montreal, Canada.

The North Coast hotel representation consisted of the Puerto Plata Village, Be Live Collection, VH hotels and the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort. These companies participated in the event in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism Dominican Republic and its Tourism Promotion Office in the host country.

More than a hundred countries attended the fair through their tourist offices and tour operators or travel agencies, representing the Caribbean, European, United States’, Asian, Latin American, and other international destinations which are important for Canadians.

Cosette García, Director of the Tourism Promotion Office in Canada, underscored the importance of the participation of Puerto Plata in the SITV, since she considers that this is a great opportunity for international trade exposure. She said that more than 35,000 people attended this fair, since it is the event that kicks off the winter season.

She added that agencies from specialized niches, such as golf and weddings, also attended this promotional platform; hence, Puerto Plata had the opportunity to present its tourism offerings for those markets.

The SITV 2015 brought together the most important operators in that market, such as Transat, Sunwing and WestJet.
