Book Fair to Host a Dominican Humor Pavilion The first Dominican Humor Pavilion will be installed in the “11th International Book Fair 2008,” open to the public between April 22 and May 4, 2008. There will be daily activities in the pavilion with some of the best local humorists who’ll present their art to spectators as well as offer talks, workshops and technical training. “Never before have these artists, who have left an indelible mark of humor in the hearts of Dominicans, been properly recognized; their work will be recognized for posterity” According to Carlos Alfredo Fatule, in charge of the initiative along with the Ministry of Culture, has confirmed the participation of Freddy Beras Goico, Luisito Martí, Felipe Polanco “Boruga”, Cuquín Victoria, Jochy Santos, Raymond Pozo, Miguel Céspedes, Manolo Ozuna, Fausto Mata, Los Rodríguez, Carlos Sánchez, Wilson Diaz, Miguel Alcántara, José Jáquez, Angel Muñiz, José Manuel Rodríguez, Félix Peguero, Mario Emilio Pérez, Víctor Reyes and Jochy Jochy. Included in the activities at the Humor Pavilion of the 11th International Book Fair 2008 is the Fame of Dominican Humor Pavilion which will pay homage to the country’s most emblematic Dominican humorists of all time. “Never before have these artists, who have left an indelible mark of humor in the hearts of Dominicans, been properly recognized; their work will be recognized for posterity,” said Carlos Alfredo. The artist added that his objective is to pay recognition to those who cultivate the art of humor. Alfredo added that he’ll be making an effort to take the Humor Pavilion beyond the Book Fair and make it a permanent installation. “If we manage to institutionalize it, the Humor Pavilion will serve as a training center where, with the exhibition of the great works of Creole humor, future generations will better understand the profession,” said program producer “Gózalo.” | ||
