Conference Celebrates International Day of Monuments and Sites …all human communities have the need to maintain and nourish their cultural identity through the permanent connection of the collective memory… To celebrate the International Day of Monuments and Sites, the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Deputy Secretary of Cultural Heritage, along with the National Direction of Monument Heritage and the Franklin Center of the United States Embassy, held a conference called “Public Policy in the Recuperation of the Cultural Heritage of America.” Main speaker at the conference, held in the Chapel of Remedios in the Central Zone, was well-known architect Gustavo Araoz. Architect Araoz said that all human communities have the need to maintain and nourish their cultural identity through the permanent connection of the collective memory that links people to specific places and sites.
