DR Celebrates World Earth Day

Dominican President, Doctor Leonel Fernández, presided over the World Earth Day activities, organized by the Progressive Environmental Movement (MAP).

The day’s activities, which took place on a farm in El Higüerito, Villa Mella, included the participation of dozens of environmental groups from around the country concerned about preserving and protecting the earth’s natural resources.

The program included an homage to the late Engineer Quilvio Cabrera who recently passed away. Quilvio Cabrera dedicated his life to agrarian reform and to procuring land to be returned to those who worked it.
