Tourism Minister to Hold Meetings with Spanish, Italian and Swiss Businesspeople

Dominican Tourism Minister Félix Jiménez is visiting various European cities where he will promote tourism in a bid to increase the numbers of European visitors to the Dominican Republic.

In Madrid, Mr. Jiménez will participate in work meetings with important executives from hotel chains, such as Andrés Gil y Sarró, from the Made in Spain hotel chain. He will also meet with Martha Fernández, editor of the Spanish newspaper Expansión. 

While in Madrid, Jiménez will also speak at a conference of businesspeople at a celebration of the Aula Magna at the business school Instituto de Empresa, according to a press release from the Office of Press and Communication.  

On Thursday, June 26 at the Zurich Hotel in Switzerland, Jiménez is scheduled to meet with Stefan Láser and Gabriela Stauffer, President of Kuoni Reisen AG and Vice-President of Larga Distancia, respectively. 

At 10:00 a.m. he will lead a press conference at the Hotel Zurich Marriot then hold meetings with Carolina Bleiker, VP of Larga Distancia of TUI Switzerland and Walter Binggeli, President of the Swiss Tour Operator FTI.  

Thursday’s work day will conclude with a breakfast meeting to be attended by Mr. Zuber and Mr. Schneider, President and Vice-President, respectively, of Public Relations of the Hotelplan Group AG.

On Friday, June 27, Mr. Jiménez will fly to Rome where he will be met at the airport by Luis José Asilis, of the Metro Group. The following day, the Dominican Tourism Minister will participate in various activities planned by Mr. Asilis.
