Young Baseball Player Michael Inoa Honored On Wednesday, Dominican President Leonel Fernández honored the young Dominican native of Puerto Plata, Michael Inoa, who recently signed a contract with the Oakland Athletics for more than $4 million dollars. “It gives us all great delight to know that we can count on a new talent from the Dominican Republic, signed to the Oakland Athletics,” said President Fernández. The reception for Michael Inoa was held in the Ambassadors Hall on the third floor of the National Palace. Also present were his parents Simon and Juana Inoa, their legal representative and representatives of the Oakland Athletics. “I wish the very best to Inoa,” said President Fernández, who predicted that the young player will be one of the great stars of the Major League. “It gives us all great delight to know that we can count on a new talent from the Dominican Republic, signed to the Oakland Athletics,” said President Fernández. Minister of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, Felipe Payano, said that Inoa has become a good will ambassador for the Dominican Republic. Michael Inoa thanked President Fernández for receiving him and for encouraging him to become a great baseball player in the Major Leagues in the United States.
