GOVERNMENT OF CUBA
The Cuban government offers scholarships for undergraduate studies in the fields of medicine, physical education and sports, pure sciences, and other degrees. Application dates change per year.


ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES (OAS)
The OAS awards scholarships to those eligible persons in their last two years of university or for students pursuing studies at a trade school; also for post-graduate studies or research in universities located in OAS member countries and scholarships for short, specialized training in educational institutions and training centers in OAS member status. The scholarships include all areas of study except medicine. On-site, on-line, or both options offered. All paperwork is carried out through the SEESCYT. www.educoas.org


GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
The Russian government offers five scholarships annually for graduate and post-graduate study. Application: February to the beginning of May. (Airfare not covered) All paperwork is handled directly through the Russian embassy. Tel.: 620-1471 and 1472 www.consuladorusord.tk


SEESCYT- UTAH
Presidential program with the University of Utah. 40 graduate scholarships and 15 teaching scholarships in the fields of technology and engineering, basic science, business and economics, public administration, natural resources and the environment. Application dates change per year.  www.usu.edu


SEESCYT -CUNY
Presidential program with CUNY. 50 graduate scholarships in the fields of technology and engineering, basic science, business and economics, public administration, natural resources and the environment. Application dates change per year.


BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT
Through the PEC-G program, the Brazilian government offers scholarships in pure sciences, earth science, engineering, biological sciences, health science, agrarian science, social and applied sciences, human and linguistic sciences, and the humanities. Application deadline: May 8 to July 7. Paperwork is handled directly through the Brazilian embassy. The PEC-PG program: agreement for post-graduate studies, except all medical specialization and clinical internships. Application deadline: March to June. GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA, TAIWAN
Funds donated by the Taiwanese government to the Dominican government for post-graduate studies and for training overseas. Application deadline: September to October. www.seescyt.gov.do


GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO
Scholarships offered by the Mexican government, through the Department of Foreign Affaire, for foreigners interested in pursuing studies in diverse academia programs, with the exception of Odontology, Plastic Surgery, marketing, accounting, advertising and business administration. The Instituto de Empresa offers partial scholarships for those interested in business programs at the Instituto de Empresa, Madrid, Spain. Application deadline: May to June. www.ie.edu

GOVERNMENT OF CHILE
The Chilean government offers scholarships through the Chilean Agency for International Cooperation (AGCI) in fields related to development. Application deadline: July to October. www.agci.cl


SEESCYT –CAROLINA FOUNDATION
The Carolina Foundation offers scholarships for those interested in pursuing degrees in Spain in the fields of science, communications, culture, law, economy, education and history, energy, infrastructure, the environment, new technologies, politics, history and art history. GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN

INTER-AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK
(Japanese government funds) Scholarships for post-graduate studies in the following areas: social sciences, public or business administration, and any program related to development, except law and medicine. Course of study are offered at universities in member countries of the BID. Northern Hemisphere- Universities located in countries of the northern hemisphere. Application deadline: March until May. Southern Hemisphere.- Universities located in countries of the southern hemisphere. Application deadline: November until the beginning of January. US GOVERNMENT
Academia exchange programs and Fulbright scholarships. These are handled directly through the American embassy. There are three options: Fulbright for individual candidates.-Open to all areas of interest except Odontology and medicine. Application deadline: February to May. Fulbright-OAS-Ecology.- Post-graduate studies in the area of Ecology. Application deadline: February to May. Fulbright for academics.- For university professors and academics, who have been nominated by their educational institution to develop specific skills. BRITISH GOVERNMENT
Chevening Scholarship Program for post-graduate and masters programs in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. This includes all areas of study with exception of medicine, art and languages. A command of English is required. Applicants must be under 35 years of age. Application deadline: August to October. www.chevening.com


GOVERNMENT OF SPAIN
MAE-AECI scholarships for doctorate or post-graduate studies for young, national and international, students with Masters’ degrees. Scholarships are handled through the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI). www.aeci.es
