Santo Domingo, April 18, 2018 – The formal presentation of the “Diccionario Lupo” – a book that presents 445 metaphors from the overall literary production of Dominican poet Lupo Hernández Rueda – will take place during Santo Domingo’s 21st Annual Book Fair this coming Saturday, April 21, at 4:00 p.m., at the “Café Bar Las Letras” in Santo Domingo’s National Theater, situated at the centrally located Juan Pablo Duarte Cultural Plaza.
A maximum representative of the Generation of ’48, Lupo Hernández Rueda was born in Santo Domingo on July 29, 1930. The “Diccionario Lupo” was produced by Dominican essayist and literary critic Ilonka Nacidit-Perdomo, to honor one of the top Dominican poets of the 20th century.
Hernández Rueda died on October 22, 2017 a few months after his 87th birthday and after the publication of the dictionary. Even though he was blind when he died, his daughter Gloria María lovingly read the dictionary to him before his passing and he was able to express his delight at the effort carried out to publish the book.
