Requirements for the issuing of passports
First time passport application
For adults and minors:
- Original and legalized birth certificate.
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and voter registration card of parent of minor child applying for passport; original and one copy (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos, 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- Documents for minors must be presented and picked up by one of the child’s parents, legal guardian or legal representative of the minor who must be accompanied by the child.
- When picking up the document, one must present their original ID and the applicant’s copy of the application.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.
Fee for adults:
Normal service: RD$ 1,238.00. (Delivery in six business days). VIP Service: RD$ 2,238.00. (Same day service if documents are handed in before 12:00 noon).
Fee for minors:
Normal service: RD$ 1,438.00. (Delivery in six business days). VIP service: RD$ 2,438.00. (Same day service if documents are handed in before 12:00 noon).
Passport renewal application
For adults and minors:
- Original and legalized birth certificate.
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and voter registration card of parent providing the documentation (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- Copy of page in Passport indicating it is expired (this is the photo page).
- Copy of visa or visas (if valid and not expired).
- Documents for minors must be presented and picked up by one of the child’s parents, legal guardian or legal representative of the minor who must be accompanied by the child.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.
- When picking up the passport, one must present their original ID, expired or old passport and the applicant’s copy of the application.

Passport application when current document is full
For adults and minors:
This category is for obtaining a new Passport when the current one no longer has sufficient pages available for official stamps and visas to be placed.
- Original and legalized birth certificate.
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and one copy of parent providing the documentation (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- To apply for and pick up new Passport, the old Passport must be surrendered.
- A photocopy of the Passport page where photo appears must be provided.
- Copy of visa or visas (if valid and not expired).
- Documents for minors must be presented and picked up by one of the child’s parents, legal guardian or legal representative of the minor who must be accompanied by the child.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.

Lost Passport application
For adults and minors:
- Original and legalized birth certificate.
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and one copy of parent providing the documentation (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Certificate of Passport Loss issued by the National Police
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- Documents for minors must be presented and picked up by one of the child’s parents, legal guardian or legal representative of the minor who must be accompanied by the child.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.
- When picking up the passport, one must present their original ID and the applicant’s copy of the application.

First time Passport for Naturalized citizens
If you are a foreign born, nationalized Dominican, you must fulfill the following requirements to receive a Passport:
- Certificate of Naturalization issued by the Ministry of Interior and the Police (in a stamped and sealed envelope)
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and one copy of one of the parents providing the documentation (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- Extract de Transcription of original birth certificate, legalized and issued within the past one year.
- Copy of first page of Passport from country of origin, page where photo appears.
- Copy of the page in the Official Gazette where the announcement of the naturalization appears or a Decree that declares the applicant to be Dominican.
- Documents for minors must be presented and picked up by one of the child’s parents, legal guardian or legal representative of the minor who must be accompanied by the child.
- To pick up the passport, one must present their original ID and the applicant’s copy of the application. In the case of picking up a passport for a minor, the child must be present. Applications can be made for minors aged ten (10) and up.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.

Passport renewal for naturalized citizens
For adults and minors:
- Copy of Certificate of Naturalization, Decree or Gazette article.
- National identification card and voter registration card – original and one copy.
- National identification card and one copy corresponding to one of the parents providing the documentation (In the case of minors).
- 3 photos 2 x 2, taken with a white background. Photos must show the full face; ears must be visible and shoulders must be covered. Teeth, undergarments and glasses must not be visible in the photo.
- Receipt and one copy of receipt showing payment made in the Banco de Reservas must be presented.
- Extract de Transcription of original birth certificate, legalized and issued within the past one year.
- Starting from the age of ten (10) years old, finger prints are taken and minors must sign for his/her own Passport.
- Documentation provided must include the expired passport and a copy of the first page of the passport where the photo appears.
- Extract de Transcription of original birth certificate, legalized and issued within the past one year (in the case of minors).
- To pick up the passport, one must present their original ID, the applicant’s copy of the application and the old passport.
- Documents pertaining to minors must be handed in and picked up by one of the child’s parents, guardian or legal representative who must be accompanied by the child.
