Fragments of architectural monuments and cultural heritage sites from the Colonial Zone are represented in a total of 31 images that make up the photographic exhibition “Colonial Details” by Dominican-British photographer Amadeo Anselin Barletta.


these photographs are replete with the history and natural beauty that “enriches the vast heritage of the cultural capital of the continent and the pride of all Dominicans.”


The show opened at the APEC exhibition hall on Máximo Gómez Avenue and will be up until the March 30th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.


The show was organized by the APEC board of directors, the APEC Cultural Program and the Quinta Dominica as part of the activities being developed by these organizations to highlight Dominican art.


César Iván Feris Iglesias, President of the APEC Cultural Program, spoke at the opening event saying that these photographs are replete with the history and natural beauty that “enriches the vast heritage of the cultural capital of the continent and the pride of all Dominicans.”


He said that within the repertory of visual arts, photography is one of the youngest art forms but the one that has the most participants, teachers and fans of shows and exhibitions as well as specialized publications produced for and by photographers.


Born in London, Anselin Barletta became interested in photography when his parents gave him a camera and the task of documenting and photographing a family trip they were taking.


He studied economics and fine arts at Hofstra University in New York. He took various photography courses at Speos Photographic Institute in Paris and the Tisch School of the Arts in New York.
