“The Dominican people express their heartfelt sympathy over the death of US Senator Edward Kennedy who died at the age of 77.

We wish to extend our condolences to the American people, the Kennedy family and the Congress of the United States for the irreplaceable loss of a man whose public life and service reached the highest goals, making him an icon of the most advanced ideas for social progress in his country.

With the death of the Senator from Massachusetts, a bright green light in the American political arena has gone out. He was a man who fought for the most genuine interests of equality and solidarity.

The Dominican people will raise their voices and join their hearts in prayer for the serenity and resignation for the prestigious Kennedy family as they mourn the death of the illustrious Senator.”
